Velleman Kit K8000 and Linux

Dit bericht is in het engels omdat zo iedereen het kan lezen 😉

So for a while I own a Velleman k8000 kit.. and now I had the time to do something with it!
I went on a google hunt and came up with the following sites:

These sites had interesting files, but they were a little outdated.
So i started a little project to combine them and updated them to work on my ubuntu system.

The changes i made are available in github

I’m new in driver and python programming, I’m just a phper who started experimenting with python.
So if you see rookie mistakes, please, don’t flame, help and fix it, i would love to learn of it 🙂

    Excellent,

    I have an old k8000 collecting dust.
    The reason was that I could not get it to work since not knowing C, and drivers were not working so good in Ubuntu, and I had no Windows machines anymore, only Ubuntu and OSX.

    I fiddled a bit with Python, and if there will be a Python library for k8000, I might actually dig it out again. 🙂

    @Eldaria
    make sure you check out my github 😉
    it should compile easyly.. could be you will need some additional libraries.. i forgot to list them up when fixing it myself.. so need to do that :p

    @Floris
    je moet ook maken dat je die ictjes verzet he, verschil tussen input en output 🙂
    maar volgens mijn eerste testen, zowel python als c, lijkt het toch te werken 🙂
    enige wat ik nog niet aan de praat heb gekregen in python is die I2cSendData enzo..
    (zie je wel in de examples)
